Oklahoma United is a local non-profit that spreads awareness of local legislation, senate bills, and state questions. Their mission is to “improve civic engagement through nonpartisan voter support and systemic reforms.” I was brought onto the team to develop a collection of logos and emblems for their sector that primarily targets independent voters.
Logos & Emblems
Due to the Independent party lacking an official color or corresponding animal, I decided to assign the eagle as well as a royal purple to the Independents. In this design, I wanted to play on the iconography of a check mark, commonly associated with voting.
I also created a local emblem Oklahoma United could use during conferences. Following the bird theme, I utilized Oklahoma’s state bird, the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, as well two olive branches that can also be found on the state flag.
As for logos, I crafted three variations of the letter “I” that is infused with a corkscrew, signifying the common ground between the two-party system. The left and middle “I” utilize the state of Oklahoma’s official colors while the right “I” implements the checkmark theme found in the eagle emblem.
